Pietro Spirito (b. 1981) is an Italian contemporary artist living and working between Milan, Berlin, and Paris.

Born in Manduria, Southern Italy, he grew up in Florence and studied Painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. Working across painting and sculpture, he develops a visual language that is both ironic and provocative, deeply rooted in contemporary culture.

His work explores themes of desire, voyeurism, and the circulation of images in the digital age, often reinterpreting dynamics associated with social media, selfies, and online self representation. He is particularly known for his hybrid sculptures that combine human bodies with animal heads, creating figures suspended between pop culture, contemporary mythology, and references to the classical sculptural tradition.

Primarily working with glazed terracotta, Spirito combines an ancient technique with a distinctly contemporary sensibility. The glossy, polished surfaces give his sculptures an almost artificial presence, intentionally contrasting with the handmade nature of the material. This tension between tradition and contemporaneity transforms each work into an ambiguous object that exists somewhere between sculpture, design, pop icon, and contemporary idol.
